Dentures - Handcrafted and Natural Looking

Thank you for your interest in the high quality, handcrafted, custom dentures of Mesick Dental Center and Denture Care. All of our dentures are made right in our office, with all USA made high quality products. And each and every denture is made by our highly trained lab tech, Rich, who has over 30 years of experience. Feel free to stop in anytime and see our lab!

We understand that obtaining dentures for the first time or replacing a faithful set can be overwhelming and sometimes frightening. We want you to be assured that we care about your dental needs and are here to help and support you through the whole process.

Our Dental Team takes many things into consideration in order to craft a natural looking denture that is designed just for you.

  • Tooth shape, color and translucency
  • Gum shade
  • Gum texture- carved bumps, ridges, fibers and vein like detail added to the denture to help resemble a natural gum line
  • Ridging- details in the roof of the upper denture simulating the ridges on the roof of the mouth, which helps the tongue when speaking and helps rotate food around the palate while eating

Heat Cured Under Pressure VS Cold-poured

Many labs use a cold-pour method to make their dentures. At Mesick Dental Center, we use Heat Cured Under Pressure to make a much stronger, more durable denture. We believe that the old saying, "You get what you pay for" is a very true statement. And we believe that when you are dealing with something as important as your teeth and your smile, what you do get is very important. A heat cured denture is going to be much stronger and more durable than a cold-poured denture.

We also use Super Hi Impact Nature-Cryl acrylic to produce a denture that has superior impact strength that exceeds all other denture-based resins on the market today. Our dentures resist breakage or chipping and have superior physical properties

New or Replacement Dentures

Obtaining replacement dentures is slightly different than obtaining dentures for the first time. The following pages will address the process of each type in more detail. Be sure to give us a call with any questions or concerns you may have.

  • New Denture Wearer
  • Replacement Denture
  • One Day Denture

Adjusting to Your Dentures

New dentures, whether a first set or a replacement set, generally feel awkward at first. Be assured, your body will quickly adjust and adapt to your new dentures. Here are some tips to help you through this adjustment phase.

  • Be sure to continue to wear your dentures. See your dentist for an adjustment if you are experiencing discomfort that does not lessen.
  • Practice eating. Choose soft foods, avoiding anything hard or sticky. Cut food into small pieces. Bite carefully and chew slowly using both sides of your mouth.
  • Practice talking. Speaking will get easier with practice. Reading aloud will help you get used to talking with your dentures and how they feel in your mouth.
  • Clean your dentures daily with a denture cleanser and denture brush.
  • Take your dentures out at bedtime to give your gums a rest while you sleep.

Common Issues for New Denture Wearers

The following are common, temporary issues for new denture wearers:

  • Increased saliva
  • Soreness of the mouth and/or gums
  • The sensation that your dentures are loose or too big. Your tongue and mouth muscles will quickly adjust and help keep your dentures in place.
